With Conservation Halton going on indigenous speaker series they will be presentating "the teachings of lacrosse" this sunday in the longhouse village at crawford lake. So Conservation Halton's indigenous education coordinator Leeanne Doxtator joins to talk about lacrosse's indigenous roots as well as what to expect at the event.

The Collaborative Kitchen
A triad of social service organizations are reaching out to serve a vulnerable part of the population in a new way. Food for life, along with st. matt's and neighbour to neighbour are engaged in a pilot project to offer ready-to-eat fruits and ready-to-cook vegetables to those who can't prepare those foods at home. It also directly addresses food insecurity. the first conversation, towards developing the 'collaborative kitchen' program began last year and the kitchen began operations near the end of April.

Carmen Cels of Oakville knows just how hard the struggles with ALS can be, as she supported and cared for her late husband Mike during his eight years of fighting the disease. With her knowledge and experience she shares the importance of events like Halton’s Walk to End ALS which help further awareness of the disease.

For over a century the Bronte Horticultural Society has been busy beautifying the Bronte area. From garden tours to plant sales and even maintaining the gardens at the Sovereign House, the horticultural society does it all and is welcome to anyone interested in joining!
The Battle of the Chefs
At the Oakville Conference Centre, the seventh edition of the Battle of the Chefs was held. The event’s goal was to help raise funds for Food4Kids Halton so that students in the region don’t go hungry, while letting local chefs from a variety of restaurants duke it out to see who is voted the best dish of the night.
