The streets were once again filled with music this past weekend, as the sound of music festival delighted the young and old alike with a variety of musical performances. Kimberly Calderbank and Steve Foxcroft helped to officially kick off Saturday morning with the annual parade that started it all.

The Oakville Seniors Recreation Centre, now called the Trafalgar Park Older Adult Centre, is celebrating it's 50th anniversary. Our Nikki Wesley went to find out how this centre has touched the lives of so many members in our community.

It's the single largest fundraiser of the year for a local charity that provides food for hungry students. Food 4 kids hosted "battle of the chefs" recently with restaurants donating all of the ingredients for the treats they served, plus their time and some of their talented staff. Hundreds turned out to support the initiative that feeds over one-thousand kids in almost 120 schools across Halton.

With Father's Day coming up this weekend, June is also considered Men's Health Month. Conservation Halton has been busy providing learning opportunities for older adults through helping connect them to nature. Jessica Kaitting spoke with Brenna Bartley, Conservation Halton's manager of education programs and outreach at Mountainview Retirement Residence in Georgetown to learn more.

Yesterday the United Church of Canada celebrated it's 100th anniversary. Over the weekend there was a special ceremonial reenactment of the service that took place a century ago. Nikki Wesley spoke with Reverend Ted after the special service.
