Prom Project 2022
Proms are back for Niagara's high school students. And that means Prom Project is back as well. Donna Abernethy from the Education Foundation of Niagara and Kerry Ould from Pen Financial Credit Union joined Mike Balsom in studio to talk about the event taking place on Saturday, May 14th at 3 locations across the Region.
Niagara Falls Farmers' Market
The 2021 Farmers' Market of the Year is back this weekend. The Niagara Falls Farmers' Market opens this Saturday, May 14th and it's returning to the MacBain Community Centre. Market Coordinator Janet Zylstra joins Mike Balsom on Zoom to tell us more.
Garden City Rollers
Roller Derby is one of the region's best-kept sporting secrets. The ladies return May 28th with two games at the Haig Bowl in St. Catharines. And the show will pay tribute to a legendary local Derby participant. Mike has two members of the Garden City Rollers in studio with him, Morag Townsend and Rachel Outram, better known as "Blunt Force Tonya".
Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet
Since 1962 Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet has been supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to learn, work and participate in their community. To mark the occasion, we invited CEO Joanna Mataya and Bobbie Broughton, coordinator of the Passport Program, to the studio. Mike Balsom finds out more about this milestone anniversary.

The annual Niagara Glen clean up day took place recently. Those that volunteered their time were also able to enjoy enhancements to the area that were made possible by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.

Brock University recently hosted Scientifically Yours - a two day event designed to show high school students the array of career possibilities available in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math.
Community Care of West Niagara's "Every Bowl Full"
Community Care of West Niagara's popular fundraiser, "Every Bowl Full" was back this year with an in-person event held at The Bench Brewing Company in Beamsville. The Source's Jesse Nobrega stopped by to learn more about the event and this organization that provides food, clothing and emergency assistance which is provided by donors and volunteers in a caring and confidential manner.
Two Mile Creek Conservation Area - NPCA
Volunteers of all ages showed up at the Two Mile Creek Conservation Area in Niagara-on-the-Lake recently to help staff from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority plant 4700 trees. Mike Balsom files this report.
