Strive Niagara formally opened their new location at the Pope Francis Centre in Thorold.

Canadian singer-songwriter Tim Hicks and Executive Director for the Education Foundation of Niagara Wolfgang Guembel joined Mike in studio to talk about the second annual "In The Round" fundraiser. Proceeds from the in-the-round concert support District School Board of Niagara students, providing needed funds and resources where government funding is not available.

As Niagara College’s signature fundraising event, our annual gala brings together business and community friends in celebration of student ambitions and dreams. It directly supports tangible educational goals and programs. During its 30-plus year history, the event has raised more than $3.5 million in support of equipment, learning resources, scholarships, and bursaries.

To recognize National Volunteer Week, we decided to invite one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's most dedicated volunteer into the studio. Tony Chisholm has been a Tour Guide for the museum, helped plan the 1812 Bicentennial, was instrumental in a visit to the town by the Tall Ships, has been dedicated to the redevelopment of the Heritage Trail, has been president of The Friends of Fort George, and volunteers to feed breakfast to the homeless at the Third Space Cafe in Niagara Falls.

Earth Day is the perfect time to take in a stunning new film called Wings Over Water, appearing at the Landmark Cinemas in St. Catharines. Janine Massey of Ducks Unlimited Canada joins us.
