The rising body count of Indigenous children as the investigation into residential schools continues has shed light on the treatment of all children under professional care. Our very own Mike Balsom has officially retired from teaching at Laura Secord Secondary School at the District School Board of Niagara in St. Catharines. Friends and family sent in some funny clips to send off Mike in style!! Good news though, you can still see his face on YourTV Niagara...and some buses here and there. Congratulations Mike. You deserve it!

At the beginning of June, the Ontario Hockey League held the 2021 Priority Selection and the Niagara IceDogs selected sixteen players over the course of two days. The Dogs have signed four of those players already including second round pick, goaltender Joey Costanzo. Joey joined Mike on Zoom to discuss his thoughts on playing for Niagara this season.
