Mayor Rob Burton Discusses Plan To Keep Residents Safe Without Speed Camera's
The town of Oakville received over 891-thousand dollars from the provincial government after their speed cameras were taken down due to provincial law. Milton's Tree Lighting
It's the third year Milton's downtown BIA has hosted a tree lighting. In that time, the executive director shared that it's grown from about 20 people to roughly 100 who attended this year. Progress in bringing more people downtown that the BIA and business owners hope translates into other kinds of success as well.
Burlington Festival Of Lights Candle Lit Stroll

Gender based violence is one of the most pervasive, deadly, and deeply rooted human rights violations of our time. And while everyone deserves the right to live free from violence, many people continue to experience it each and every day related to their gender. Today, Milton-East Halton Hills South MP Kristina Tesser Derksen was joined by MP Rechie Valdaz, the minister of women and gender equality, to announce strengthened federal support for the national action plan to end gender based violence.

On yesterday's show we told you that following the deactivation of its speed cameras the Town of Oakville has received more than 891 thousand dollars from the Province to cover some of the costs of keeping its streets safe. However, Burlington would not be receiving any funds as despite announcing their automated speed enforcement plan, the cameras had not yet been activated. What type of deficit does this put the city in? That was Jason Agnew's first question today in his weekly chat with Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward.
