It's that time of year again for a Milton tradition, Miracle on Main. The event, along with another in Brampton, set a collective record for the amount of money raised and helped tens of thousands of families with gifts on Christmas morning. The town of Oakville received over 891-thousand dollars from the provincial government after their speed cameras were taken down due to provincial law. Milton's Tree Lighting
It's the third year Milton's downtown BIA has hosted a tree lighting. In that time, the executive director shared that it's grown from about 20 people to roughly 100 who attended this year. Progress in bringing more people downtown that the BIA and business owners hope translates into other kinds of success as well.

Presser For National Action Plan To End Gender Based Violence
Gender based violence is one of the most pervasive, deadly, and deeply rooted human rights violations of our time. And while everyone deserves the right to live free from violence, many people continue to experience it each and every day related to their gender. Today, Milton-East Halton Hills South MP Kristina Tesser Derksen was joined by MP Rechie Valdaz, the minister of women and gender equality, to announce strengthened federal support for the national action plan to end gender based violence.
